Before You Hit Publish: Your Landing Page Cheat Sheet

Your web pages are incredibly valuable real estate, but I see a lot of online businesses and coaches that aren’t using them to their full potential. And if your landing pages don’t hit on a few major points, you could be losing out on a ton of clients and sales.

What kinds of pages am I talking about? It could be a page dedicated to a special coaching service you offer. Or maybe it’s an exciting release that warrants a full-blown landing page. Or even a membership program you have. No matter what, this type of web page is an important step for converting prospects into clients and growing your coaching business.

But, if you’re missing vital components on this page, it could mean the difference between having an excited buyer — or a confused reader. And sadly, a confused reader is most likely going to exit the page and go somewhere else.

So how can you put your best foot forward on all your landing pages? When it comes to the messaging, here’s a checklist of some important pieces you should include:

✅ Why Should They Care?

Make sure to let your audience know your reasoning behind why you’re offering this helpful service for them. What makes you qualified to offer it? And why are you making it available now?

✅ Your Offer

This may seem obvious, but a lot of service providers forget to spell out in crystal clear language exactly what they’re offering. It’s easy to assume your customers already know — but don’t leave any room for confusion or misinterpretation. Say. It. Clearly!

✅ The “What’s in it for me?”

Beyond the actual line items of what you offer, explain how your service will help your potential coaching client or customer in their life. What relief, joy, or highlights are they getting out of it?

✅ The Deets

Everyone wants to know exactly what they’re paying for, so it’s important to give all the details up front. In addition to the key aspects of your service, make sure to include other bonuses, like free resources you include, a shipping offer, special discounts, those kinds of things.

✅ Who It’s Perfect For

Help your ideal coaching clients or customers identify with you by calling out who would benefit from your service. And, you can also call out who it’s not for. It’s good to get specific!

✅ How It Works

Your potential coaching clients and customers need to know how to do business with you, otherwise they’ll go somewhere else. Don’t leave them hanging, or count on them to figure it out. Instead, spell out the process in a few simple steps to reassure them and make it easy to move forward.

While there are other super important elements to a landing page, such as the layout, design, imagery, site functionality, etc, your messaging is the heart of your offer.

These are just a few ways to help you convey your message, so that when customers reach the bottom of the page, they’re all in on your offer!
